How to Import Presets into Fractal Axe-Fx III, FM3 & FM9

Fractal units use the free FM Edit (FM3/FM9) or Axe-Edit III software to manage presets. Here's how to import new tones.

Step by step

1. Install FM Edit or Axe-Edit III and connect your unit by USB.
2. Unzip the preset pack (files end in .syx).
3. Open the editor's preset manager and choose Import, or drag the .syx into a preset slot.
4. Save to the unit — the presets are ready.

Tips

Match the firmware the pack was built on where possible, and back up your current bank before importing.
