How to Install Guitar Presets on Line 6 Helix & HX Stomp

Importing presets into a Line 6 Helix or HX Stomp takes just a couple of minutes with the free HX Edit software. Here's how.

Step by step

  1. Download and install HX Edit from the Line 6 website, then connect your device by USB.
  2. Unzip the preset pack you bought (files end in .hlx).
  3. Open HX Edit and select a Setlist in the left panel.
  4. Drag the .hlx files into the preset list, or use File > Import.
  5. The presets load instantly — start playing.

Back up your current setlist first, and make sure your device firmware is up to date so every block loads correctly.
